New Lucifer news soon — what does that actually mean?

If you watch social media obsessively [you mean some people don’t??], you’ll know Lucifer season 6 is in the final throws of filming. Various cast and crew have been bidding farewell to each other, the Lux set and talking about final read throughs. That’s all well and good, but what about the rest of Lucifer season 5?

On Twitter, actor Dennis Haysbert (who plays God, so may not what he’s talking about!) has dropped  the picture above as well as this Tweet:

Fans all over the internet are asking when Part 2 of “Lucifer” Season 5 premieres!

So what does this tell us about new Lucifer?

We know season 5 part 2 (or 5B) is coming at some point. We know it’s not showing in the April schedule, and at time of writing it’s nearly the end of March. According to some fans who replied to Haysbert, the show did something similar for a previous series, with Racheal Harris (who plays Dr Linda Martin) tweeting something a day or two before an official announcement.

If we put our optimistic hats on, and allow for a nine-hour time difference to LA (don’t forget we move to BST on Sunday!), we might get an announcement today! If we skip the weekend, new Lucifer news before the end of the month is possible, or perhaps next Friday (Easter).

What might the news be?

We have to assume a May drop for season 5B. Could they reveal a date several months out? Possible, but let’s hope not. I see a lot of Friday releases, though May 1 is a Saturday. Could it sneak in for Friday March 31? Is Monday May 3rd more likely (the day before Star Wars Day)?

Whatever the news is, we’ll bring it as soon as we can!
