Paramount present the “final season” of Picard show at a Winter Television Critics Association panel.
As we inch closer to the release of Star Trek: Picard Season 3, Paramount have launched the season with a panel at the TCA and a tasteful new poster.
As well as showrunner Terry Matalas and executive producer Alex Kurtzman, stars Sir Patrick Stewart, Jeri Ryan, Michelle Hurd, Gates McFadden and Michael Dorn all attended to promote the season.
Thanks to Deadline, we have an idea of what was said at the event. The big takeaway is that while billed as “ The Final Season”, it might not be quite so final after all.
When asked about the ending executive producer Alex Kurtzman said that “anything is possible”. Then he added:
“If the show blows the doors off the place, and we’re certainly hoping it will as we’re very proud of season three, who knows?”
Meanwhile, the show’s star was signalling he might yet continue too, saying:
“There is still enormous potential for matters in what we can do and there are doors left open and we didn’t close all of them.”
This season reunites most of the Star Trek: The Next Generation cast. Patrick Stewart is joined by Gates McFadden, Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn and Marina Sirtis. Also, Brent Spiner reprises his role as Data’s “brother” Lore. Jeri Ryan and Michelle Hurd continue on from the previous season.
We’ll keep you posted – Picard returns on February 16th, 2023.
In the US, Picard is on Paramount+, Crave in Canada and the show streams internationally on Prime Video.
