Playdate – Disney+ announces cast for a new UK thriller

Adapted from Alex Dahl’s bestseller, Playdate stars Andor’s Denise Gough. 

Disney+ have revealed the cast of their upcoming five-part thriller, which they describe as a “gripping five-part psychological drama.”

Elisa’s world is turned upside down when her young daughter Lucia is kidnapped at a sleepover.

Disney+ Playdate cast

The series stars Denise Gough (Andor), Holliday Grainger  (Strike), Ambika Mod (I Hate Suzie). They’re joined by  Jim Sturgess (Cloud Atlas), Bronagh Waugh (Ridley) and Michael Workeye (This Is Going to Hurt).

Playdate is written by Catherine Moulton (Baptiste, Hijack) and directed by Eva Husson (Hanna).

The series is executive produced by Nicola Shindler (Nolly) for Quay Street Productions; Tanya Seghatchian and John Woodward (The Power of the Dog) for Brightstar; Johanna Devereaux, VP of Scripted Content for Disney+ EMEA; and Alex Dahl, Eva Husson and Catherine Moulton. The producer is James Dean (Better,  Liar).

Production on Playdate commenced this summer in the UK and France. We’ll keep you posted.
