In Doctor Who Magazine 609, three actors were announced for the cast of the Doctor Who spin-off The War Between the Land and the Sea.
Producer Phil Collinson named Patrick Baladi, Vincent Franklin and Adrian Lukis as part of the cast for the spin-off. Patrick Baladi played Neil Godwin in the 2001 BBC sitcom The Office. Vincent Franklin played Christopher Rawson in the 2019-2022 BBC/HBO series Gentleman Jack. Adrian Lukis played the duplicitous George Wickham in the BBC’s 1995 adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.
Collinson also named two actresses, Francesca Corney and Mei Mac. Francesca Corney appeared in the 2023 Apple TV+ historical drama The Buccaneers. Call the Midwife actress Mei Mac starred as Juliet alongside Ncuti Gatwa’s Romeo at King Charles III’s coronation concert.
Previously named as in the cast for the five-part series are Russell Tovey and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jemma Redgrave, Alexander Devrient, Ruth Madeley and Colin McFarlane.
The series is created by Doctor Who showrunner and executive producer Russell T Davies, who has co-written the series with Pete McTighe. Davies wrote Episodes One, Four and Five while McTighe wrote episodes Two and Three.
All five episodes are directed by Dylan Holmes Williams, who filmed the 2024 Doctor Who episodes 73 Yards and Dot and Bubble. The series is believed to be currently filming on location in Mallorca and will continue filming until right before Christmas 2024.
