Issue number 530 of Doctor Who Magazine, available Thursday, September 20, promises some new Doctor Who Series 11 information and content.
The magazine will preview the first two Series 11 episodes; The Woman Who Fell to Earth, directed by Jamie Childs, which contains some footage filmed in Sheffield; and the second episode of the series of which the title has not yet been released, directed by Mark Tonderai, which contains some footage filmed on location in South Africa.
Also included in the issue is an interview with Jodie Whittaker who states, “I don’t ever forget what I’m a part of because Doctor Who’s been around much longer than I have. But every part of this experience is to make it my own.”
Chris Chibnall will be featured in the issue. There is no word yet whether Chibnall will contribute, be interviewed, or both.
The magazine will also introduce the team responsible for bringing the Series 11 to our screens. The costume designer, Ray Holman, and the head of the makeup department, Claire Pritchard-Jones have both tweeted that they will be included in this feature.
Intriguingly, there will also be a feature billed as, “Secrets of the TARDIS control room revealed!”, possibly a look into the thirteenth Doctor’s new TARDIS.
A deluxe edition of this issue will be available exclusively at WHSmith. It includes a Series 11 Guide featuring new interviews with Jodie Whittaker, Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill, a Doctor Who CD from Big Finish, four double-sided art cards featuring the Doctor and her three companions, a “massive”, double-sided poster featuring scenes from Series 11 and four Doctor Who downloads from Big Finish and BBC Audio.
Doctor Who Magazine 530 is on sale September 20. Regular edition £5.99, deluxe edition £9.99. Amazon, iTunes and PocketMags will offer digital versions on the same date.
