We’ve known that a third series of the ST:TNG era animation was in the works since January’s announcement, but now we have a couple of hint as to where the show might take us.
After the climatic events of Season 2, which saw Captain Freeman wrongfully arrested for the destruction of Pakled Planet, things looked grim. However, Mariner and her USS Cerritos friends won’t be taking things lying down and it seems we can expect ample references to Star Trek III – The Search for Spock along the way. Including the crew stealing their ship!
Quite what role former crewmate Ensign Peanut Hamper plays in season 3 is unclear, but she’s certainly made the poster!
Star Trek: Lower Decks season 3 will again be comprised of ten episodes. It’s available on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Latin America, and on CTV Sci-Fi Channel and Crave in Canada. Elsewhere, including the UK, you can find the show on Prime Video.
There’s no start date just yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
