“Once a rebel, always a rebel.”
With the launch of Star Wars: Ahsoka creeping up, Lucasfilm has dropped a new trailer for its upcoming series.
For fans of The Clone Wars animated series, Ahsoka Tano’s backstory is no mystery – she’s Anakin Skywalker’s former Jedi Padawan learner. In two live action shows, The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, we’ve seen her pop up (played by Rosario Dawson).
With her own series landing in late August, this latest trailer gives us a first front-on look at Mads Mikkelsen. He’s playing the iconic “Heir to the Empire” himself, Grand Admiral Thrawn.
“Buckle up!”
The cast for Ahsoka brings various familiar animated characters from the Star Wars: Rebels series into live-action. Natasha Liu Bordizzo plays Sabine Wren, with Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla. Plus, Ivanna Sakhno is Shin Hati, the late Ray Stevenson plays Baylan Skoll and Diana Lee Inosanto is Morgan Elsbeth.
Additionally, Genevieve O’Reilly returns as the reassuring presence of Mon Mothma and we’re expecting an appearance from Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker too. Additionally, as no genre show should be without him, David Tennant is on board as the voice of the Jedi droid Huyang.
Journey to Ahsoka
There’s also a cute mini feature which shows Rosario Dawson’s association with the role. It’s a mixture of mixture of clips and behind the scenes moments.
There’s also an impressive new poster for the show, catching its hero in an action pose.
Star Wars: Ahsoka‘s eight-episode run launches on Disney+ on August 23rd, 2023.
