It looks like it’s back to Mandalore as Grogu gets to meet the family.
The most anticipated trailers to come out of the recent D23 Expo must be for The Mandalorian Season 3.
The hit Star Wars streaming show, which is now spawning spin-offs of its own, returns in 2023.
While that’s still a good distance, the trailer gives us plenty to get excited about. After reuniting our heroes in The Book of Boba Fett, we’re looking forward to plenty of action… and this 1 minute 50 second slice does not disappoint!
“A Clan of Two”
Amid the space battles and stunning imagery, the show picks up where we left Mando (Pedro Pascal) – dishonoured for removing his helmet. Unsurprisingly, this prompts a visit to Mandalore and an audience with sometime ally Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff); appearing on the throne, whether she is friend or foe while Mando wields the Darksaber – who knows?
Either way, there are numerous people in versions of that famous armour throughout, including the Mandalorian Armourer (Emily Swallow).
Promising returns to Nevarro and Tatooine, we saw allies Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) and engineer Peli Motto (Amy Sedaris). We also caught a glimpse of Omid Abtahi’s sinister scientist Doctor Pershing too.
While there’s little revealed about the season at this stage, we know that Back to the Future legend Christopher Lloyd appears at some point. Additionally, Carl Weathers will also direct, as will Bryce Dallas Howard and Rick Famuyiwa.
We guess there’s a good chance of seeing Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano, prior to the launch of her own show, and you wouldn’t bet against a further reunion with allies Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) too.
The Mandalorian Season 3 is expected to land on Disney+ in February 2023.
