Comic Con International created a virtual convention as part of their San Diego Comic-Con @ Home in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As part of their virtual convention, they organized two Doctor Who-themed panels on July 25 and 26.
In the first of their two panels on July 25, Titan Entertainment’s Andrew Sumner moderates a panel featuring writer Jody Houser, artist Roberta Ingranata, colorist Enrica Eren Angiolini, editor Jake Devine, senior creative editor David Leach and BBC producer James Goss to discuss the new Time Lord Victorious comic series.
Time Lord Victorious is the BBC’s new, multi-platform Doctor Who story told across comics, novels, audio, vinyl and digital which launches in September 2020.
The second panel from July 26 is a discussion called Who’s the Best Doctor Who? Moderator Sandro Monetti (CNN International) debates the issue with Doctor Who fans Julie O’Malley (The Finder of Impossible Things), Kristi Schoeman (SD Who Con), Johny Dyer (Time Traveller’s (UN) LTD.), Karen Glover (Time Traveller’s (UN) LTD.), and River Alexandra Song (Time Traveller’s (UN) LTD.) This opinionated panel claims to settle the argument. The discussion ends with the result of a public vote by Who’s The Best podcast listeners.
A San Diego Comic-Con is planned for July 22-25, of 2021 with organizers hoping the convention will be back for the full in-person experience.
