The actor Howard Lew Lewis has died at the age of 76, it’s been announced. He passed away last Saturday.
Lew Lewis was best known for two brilliant roles. Firstly, as the scene-stealing barman Elmo in the sitcom Brush Strokes. And then, even more so as Rabies in the wonderful Maid Marian & Her Merry Men. He also popped up in the movie Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves as well.
He’s survived by his wife and daughter, and leaves behind some quite brilliant screen moments.
Tony Robinson was amongst those to pay tribute.
