The USA Network’s smash hit mystery miniseries, The Sinner, has been renewed for a second season. On this side of the pond, Netflix UK broadcast all eight episodes of The Sinner season 1. We assume the streaming service will do the same for season 2.
If you’re unfamiliar, let us fill you in. The Sinner is based on the novel of the same name by Petra Hammesfahr. The series stars Jessica Biel as Cora Tannetti, a New Yorker who kills a man in public. Bill Pullman plays Detective Harry Ambrose, who’s assigned to her bizarre case.
By the sounds of this synopsis for The Sinner season 2, it’s Pullman’s character that will carry over into this next set of episodes:
“In the wake of the Cora Tannetti case, Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) is called back to his hometown in distant rural New York to assess a disturbing new crime: an 11-year-old boy’s horrific double-homicide & his seemingly inexplicable motive.
“As Ambrose comes to realize there’s nothing ordinary about the boy or where he came from, his investigation leads him straight into the hidden darkness of his hometown and pitting him against those who’ll stop at nothing to protect its secrets.”
There is no word yet on the release date for The Sinner season 2, but we’ll let you know as we hear more.
