“Every carriage is packed full of silly gags and songs. Yes the Joke-amotive is pulling into your living room now. He’s wearing platform shoes and he’s got the carriage of a lion. What a goody choo choos. It’s the gag rush hour. His dis-embark is worse than his dis-embite. Be on your guard. Take a deep breath and hold on tight. This train Timinates here!”

We caught up with Tim to find out what he likes to watch to relax between shows…

Favourite TV show to cheer you up:

“I recently got rid of a lot of VHS’s, but one I kept was the best of The Benny Hill Show. I never tire of it and I think he’s hugely underrated.”

Favourite TV show to watch before going to sleep:

Match of the Day. I love settling into an armchair for that. I’m normally gripped and then the last couple of matches I do that trying to stay awake nodding off thing. It really annoys my wife. Well, it would do if I had a wife.”

TV show that reminds you of your childhood:

“It would have to be Starsky & Hutch. Saturday nights I was allowed to stay up and watch it. I can still remember glancing at the clock on the wall and thinking how late it was as the hands approached ten o’clock. I was 27.”

TV show that reminds you of being a teenager:

“I was a massive fan of The Young Ones. Well Rik Mayall really. As a teenager he was my comedy hero. I once got him to sign my hand after a live Young Ones show at Wimbledon Theatre.”

Favourite “guilty pleasure” TV show:

“Now and again I watch channels like Bid-Up TV. I don’t know what’s going on but it sounds terribly exciting.”

TV show that you find most addictive:

Judge Judy. The trouble is that they put several of them on in a row in the morning. If I’m pottering I can easily waste a couple of hours on it. She’s great. ‘I’m twalking maam!'”

Favourite TV show to watch hungover:

“Anything but The Tweenies. The colours in that show give me a hangover without the need for alcohol.”

Axed TV show that you most wish would return:

“The ones I want back are from the seventies and that’s really because it’s the stars that I want back. And sadly most of the stars from seventies shows are not as they were. (Dead.) Hey, I’ve just thought of a show where that doesn’t apply. Bring back The Muppet Show!”
