The Goosebumps author is set to have an adaptation of one of his short stories into a feature for Tubi for this Halloween. Here’s what we know so far.
The childhood of many horror-lovers comprised of R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps books, now Tubi is set to release a feature adaptation of his short story Pumpkinhead. The adaptation is also said to be inspired by the previous adaptation of Stine’s short stories from The Haunting Hour.
What’s it about?
R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead will follow a teenager moving into Redhaven. When his brother disappears, it seems as though everyone’s forgotten that he existed. A group of friends bands together to try and break a harvest curse before the end of Halloween.
Who’s in it?
Matty Finochino (Riverdale), Kevin McNulty (Supernatural), Bob Frazer (Safehaven), Seth Isaac Johnson (Supernatural), Vera Frederickson (The 100), Adeline Lo (Sorry for Your Cost) and Bean Reid have been confirmed to star in R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead.
Who’s behind it?
Jem Garrard (Orphan Black: Echoes) is the writer and director. Charles Cooper (Lowlifes) is the producer, with Dan Bernard (Zombie Town), Yvonne Bernard (Drei Herren), Rama Diallo (Diquiet), Jem Garrard, Harvey Kahn (The Haunting Hour), Allen Lewis (Spooksville), James Mattagne (My Mother, the Zombie) and Joan Waricha (Fear Street) as executive producers.
When’s it out?
The feature is set to premiere on Tubi on the 17th October this year.
