The Star Trek: Lower Decks and the continuing adventures of Jean-Luc Picard come to Paramount+.
With a recent announcement, delivered via StarTrek.com, Paramount+ has finally gained access to the whole Star Trek universe.
While the streamer has the back catalogue of Star Trek shows, both live-action and animated, as well as Discovery, Strange New Worlds and Prodigy, there was a hole in their offering; thanks to pre-existing deals signed with Prime Video, they had no access to Picard (soon to start its third run) or the animated antics of Lower Decks.
Now, the third season of Picard will land on the Paramount+ in the U.S. and in Latin America on February 16th. It follows a day later in the UK, Australia, Italy, France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. A South Korean premiere will follow at a later date.
Previous seasons of Picard will also be available in English speaking regions starting this February.
For Lower Decks, all season are currently available in Latin America. This deal widens this to all Paramount+ markets (outside Canada) later in the year. In Canada, both shows continue to appear on Bell Media’s CTV Sci-Fi Channel and stream on Crave.
Importantly, it seems that both series will also remain on Prime Video too.
Picard Series 3
Picard returns for its much-anticipated this week, reuniting the ST:TNG crew for what’s billed as a final series.
- Lower Decks Series 4 should arrive later in the year. Additionally, two of its characters are (somehow) crossing over into live action for an episode of the Trek prequel series Strange New Worlds.
We’ll keep you posted.
