Annie Wersching will play the Borg Queen in Star Trek: Picard season 2

It was reported on Deadline, Annie Wersching (Bosch, Timeless, Runaways, The Vampire Diaries…) is coming to Star Trek: Picard season 2 and will play a recurring character — the Borg Queen. Obviously lots of interesting interaction with both Picard and 7of9 to look forward to. The series is also set to star Patrick Stewart, Alison Pill, Isa Briones, Evan Evagora, Michelle Hurd, Santiago Cabrera, Jeri Ryan, Orla Brady and Brent Spiner.

Between more Borg and the return of John de Lancie as Q, the next season of Picard looks to be quite a feast for fans, and if they remember to also tell a good story and keep them entertained, fans are in for a real treat. For now all we think we know is time is broken. That and the revelation about 7of9 and we begin to get the sense this is all about the Borg.

It’s worth remembering it was Q who first placed the Enterprise in the path of the Borg back in the Next Generation series, so we begin to see a pattern here. If we were to guess, we might wonder if it’s all about the Borg being a better alternative than a universe without Borg, but now we’ve drifted into speculation.
