Several trailers, teasers and images were released for Doctor Who Season Two starring Ncuti Gatwa, Varada Sethu and Millie Gibson. What follows is an image breakdown of the second episode.

The Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) continues his epic quest to get Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu) back home — but a mysterious force is impeding his efforts. The time-traveling TARDIS team face danger in 1952 Miami from a cartoon character come to life. Mr Ring-a-Ding (Alan Cumming) is a happy, funny, singalong cartoon, who lives in Sunny Town with his friend Sunshine Sally. However, in Miami 1952, after years of repeats in cinemas across the land, Mr Ring-a-Ding suddenly looks beyond the screen and sees the real world outside – and the consequences are terrifying.

The known cast for this episode are Ncuti Gatwa, Varada Sethu, Anita Dobson, Alan Cumming and Lewis Cornay.

The Doctor creates a device, possibly for the purpose of returning Belinda to her home. This device is seen in many scenes from several of the trailers for the series.

The Doctor and Belinda dress for 1952 Miami. Belinda is thrilled with her yellow sundress.

The pair arrive outside the Palazzo cinema in Miami. Belinda exclaims, “You’re Scooby Doo!” “Honey, I’m Velma,” the Doctor counters.

Inside the cinema, Mr Ring-a-Ding decides to climb out of the screen to the audience’s terror.

Mr Ring-a-Ding follows the Doctor and Belinda outside the cinema. The pair find out first hand what it’s like to live in Mr Ring-a-Ding’s former two dimensional existence.

How do the Doctor and Belinda get out of this predicament? Fans will need to wait until the episode airs to find out. Back on the TARDIS, the Doctor assures Belinda, “I promised that I would keep you safe.” “But you can’t,” Blinda protests. “I can. I will. I do. I will take you home. That is a promise,” the Doctor replies.

Doctor Who Season Two will officially launch with Episode One on Saturday 12 April at 8am on BBC iPlayer and later that day on BBC One in the UK. Those outside of the UK can watch Doctor Who Season Two on Disney+ where available simultaneously starting at 3am ET/12am PT.
