On 14 and 15 October 2024, a crew filmed scenes for the the Doctor Who spin-off, The War Between the Land and the Sea, in the vicinity of the National Museum Wales and Cardiff City Hall.

Setup at the location began on 13 October.

On 14 October, Russell Tovey and other actors filmed chaotic scenes on the steps in front of National Museum Wales in Cardiff. According to onlookers, aquatic creatures called Sea Devils are dumping rubbish humans have previously dumped into the ocean on government buildings on dry land. Actors were seen dodging rubbish falling from above.

UNIT soldiers were seen running out of the building and into UNIT vehicles outside.
