Frasier Season 2 – landing at Paramount+ in September
Deadline has broken news that Frasier returns to Paramount+ on September 19th, 2024 for its second season.
The show, starring Kelsey Grammer as the enduring sitcom character Dr Frasier Crane, was revived for the streamer in 2023. The new iteration returned Frasier to his Boston roots, reconnecting with his adult son Freddie (Jack Cutmore-Scott) who’s a firefighter.
House sharing with Freddie, it managed to recreate some of the intergenerational dynamic that the original thrived on with Frasier’s delightfully crabby father Martin, played by the late John Mahoney.
Fraiser also stars Nicholas Lyndhurst as Frasier’s old college buddy Alan Cornwall, with Toks Olagundoye as Olivia, head of the Harvard’s psychology department. Jess Salgueiro and Anders Keith complete the cast as Eve, Freddy’s roommate, and David, Frasier’s nephew (son of Niles and Daphne).
Frasier Season 2
The new run of episodes promises a visit to Seattle, home of the original’s 11-season 90s/00s run.
At the radio station KACL, we can look forward to guest appearances from a couple of familiar faces. Both the sports obsessed Bob “Bulldog” Briscoe (Dan Bulter) and the mannered food critic Gil Chesterton (Edward Hibbert) will appear. Plus, there’s a return for Harriet Sansom Harris as Frasier’s agent, Bebe Glazer.
Additionally, Peri Gilpin returns again as Roz Doyle, with Greer Grammer – Kelsey’s daughter – appearing as Roz’s daughter Alice.
The season’s guest cast also includes Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Yvette Nicole Brown (Community), Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond), Amy Sedaris (The Mandalorian) and the legendary comic Carole Burnett.
Paramount+ are dropping two episodes on September 19th, followed by weekly instalments.
