Good Omens 2 – first look at the new title sequence

Michael Sheen and David Tennant return for more as the angel Aziraphale and the Demon Crowley.

With the return of Good Omens imminent, Prime Video have released the show’s title sequence. Once again, it’s an animated affair stuffed full of clues for the upcoming episodes.

In fact, when asked online, show creator Neil Gaiman gave a Blackadder like response saying they contain:

“More Easter Eggs than in a fancy Easter Egg shop the week before Easter.”

The show’s makers have returned to the Peter Anderson Studio for the titles, which combine elements of illustration and physical props, as well as computer effects. Creative director, Peter Anderson, told Polygon his favourite bit:

“If you look closely a character from the series one titles is trying to escape hell again!”

Good Omens 2 heads past the events of the novel into new territory for Aziraphale and Crowley. The show picks up their lives with the apocalypse averted.

Many of the first season’s cast return to their roles, along with a few new faces – including a couple of the wider Tennant family.

Here’s the premise for Good Omens 2:

Originally based on Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s international best-selling novel, the new season will explore storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale, a fussy angel and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley.

Having been on Earth since The Beginning, and with the Apocalypse thwarted, Aziraphale and Crowley are getting back to easy living amongst mortals in London’s Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery.

The show revealed it’s start date via a lavish parody video from YouTubers The Hillywood Show. It’s well worth a watch, with a few familiar faces popping up.

Good Omens 2 lands its six episodes at Prime Video on Friday, July 28th 2023. The show also comes to the BBC at a later date.
