Doctor Who star Alex Kingston has revealed that she does not believe River Song’s story is over.

The character of River Song last appeared just over two years ago in ‘The Name of the Doctor’.

Speaking at Mega-con earlier this month, Kingston commented: “All I can say is… spoilers! But what I will say is the sonic screwdriver that I had in ‘Silence in the Library’, which had been given to me by the Doctor, is not the sonic screwdriver that has been seen… yet.”

The Arrow actress added: “I haven’t been told I’m done [on Doctor Who].”

Asked how River Song would react to Peter Capaldi’s Doctor, she said: “Well, River’s dealt with a lot of Doctor’s faces in the past so I don’t think that it would be a surprise to her.”

Season 9 began filming in Cardiff in January and will air on BBC One this autumn.
