Doctor Who filming with Aneurin Barnard at Cardiff City Stadium

A crew filmed scenes for Doctor Who Series 14 at Cardiff City Stadium in Wales on January 16.

The stadium was set-dressed with the same Albion “Bigger Better Bolder Britain” campaign slogans as the Doctor Who filming at Capitol Shopping Center in Cardiff on January 3.

The filming took place on the middle of the football pitch. Extras dressed in dark suits playing security were present. During the filming of the scene, someone was heard shouting “ARE YOU LISTENING? GET OFF THE PITCH!”

Aneurin Barnard was spotted on set in costume as candidate Roger ap Gwilliam from the Albion Party.

Millie Gibson was also spotted as she left the stadium.

An actress photographed at Doctor Who filming in Newport on January 9 was photographed leaving the stadium.

Dylan Holmes Williams is directing the current filming block, Block One, which consists of Episodes Four and Five, according to editor Chris Roebuck’s LinkedIn.

It is not unusual for Doctor Who episodes to be filmed in a different order from their episode number. Block Two of Doctor Who filming, directed by Mark Tonderai, will contain Ncuti Gatwa’s full episodic debut as the Doctor in a special which will air in the 2023 festive period.

There was some Doctor Who filming at Cardiff Bay Barrage and at Swansea Bay Campus in Wales, possibly for the other Block One episode.

Doctor Who will return in November 2023 with three 60th anniversary specials starring David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor. In the following festive period, Ncuti Gatwa will star in his first full Doctor Who episode as the Fifteenth Doctor.
