Torchwood star John Barrowman has revealed that he is working on new plans to get the show back on television.
The Doctor Who spin-off launched on BBC Three in 2006, with a further three seasons airing on BBC Two, BBC One and then US cable channel Starz.
Torchwood was last seen on TV in 2011 with the ten-part Miracle Day season.
Barrowman announced at Comic-Con in San Diego yesterday: “I think Torchwood is such a great show, I’d like to see it on television … I have already set the ball rolling to get Torchwood back – and that’s an exclusive here at Comic-Con.”
He added: “I have a first telephone conversation on Monday about moving it forward to see how we can get it back on television … The fans know me well enough, I’m only going to say it if I really mean it and believe it … We need Captain Jack back on screen!”
