Sherlock series 4 will arrive on UK Netflix in July 2018, the iconic streaming service has revealed. This is the series that aired on BBC One last year, pitting Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock, Martin Freeman’s Watson and Mark Gatiss’ Mycroft against a chilling new villain named Eurus (who was portrayed by Sian Brooke in a magnificently multifaceted performance).
The exact date to mark on your calendars is July 15th, which will see Sherlock series 4 appearing on Netflix at the same time as Gavin & Stacey series 1. The previous three series of Sherlock and The Abominable Bride Christmas special are already on UK Netflix, so the addition of Sherlock series 4 will make it a complete set.
Other highlights on Netflix in July 2018 include the return of Orange Is The New Black (season 6 lands on the 27th), numerous Fast And Furious films (which will arrive on the 1st), and Andy Serkis’ directorial debut Breathe (starring Andrew Garfield, which will premiere on the streaming service on the 25th).
There’s no word yet on when the fifth series of Sherlock might go into production, with the show’s stars and writers being busy with numerous other projects. In this lengthy and possibly never-ending interim, the show’s creators – Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss – have announced a Sherlock escape room in London to keep fans entertained.
