Here’s a very welcome update: the new series of Taskmaster is a little closer than we though. Dave has confirmed that Taskmaster series 6 is nearly with us, and that the show will begin its new run this week, on May 2nd!

The terrific Taskmaster is set to become a staple of Dave over the coming years, with the news last week that 40 more episodes of the programme have been ordered, across four more series.

If you’ve never had the pleasure, Alex Horne’s creation – whereby famous people have to do increasingly odd tasks set by him and Greg Davies – is a genuine delight. All series of the show to date are available on Dave’s catch-up service.

Series six of Taskmaster is now filming too, and Dave has also confirmed who’s going to be competing in the new run of the show.

Alice Levine, Asim Chadhry, Liza Tarbuck, Russell Howard and Tim Vine are the five who have signed up for the next series, and they’re working on their tasks around now. We’re hoping that Dave will schedule the new run for later this year, and then it’ll promptly get cracking on series seven…
