Apple have released details and first look at Murderbot. which sounds like a lot of fun,
Adapting Martha Wells’ award-winning The Murderbot Diaries novellas, the show comes from Chris and Paul Weitz (American Pie). The series has legions of fans who enjoy the central character. It’s a genderless bot-human construct, who is asexual and eschews physical contact with humans.

The 10-part sci-fi series stars Alexander Skarsgård (Succession) in the title role and he’s also an executive producer.

Murderbot is a sci-fi thriller/comedy about a self-hacking security construct who is horrified by human emotion yet drawn to its vulnerable clients. Played by Skarsgård, Murderbot must hide its free will and complete a dangerous assignment when all it really wants is to be left alone to watch futuristic soap operas and figure out its place in the universe.
The ensemble cast also includes Noma Dumezweni (Presumed Innocent), David Dastmalchian (Oppenheimer), Sabrina Wu (Joy Ride), Akshay Khanna (Critical Incident), Tattiawna Jones (The Handmaid’s Tale) and Tamara Podemski (Outer Range).
The series comes from Paramount Television Studios, with the Weitz brothers writing, directing and producing for Depth of Field. Andrew Miano also executive produces for Depth of Field, alongside David S. Goyer and Keith Levine for Phantom Four. Author Martha Wells is a consulting producer.
The show lands on Apple TV+ with a double premiere on Friday, 16th May 2025, with weekly episodes following on Fridays thereafter.
