Skeleton Crew will bring us Jude Law and a group of kids trying to get home.
With The Mandalorian Season 3 soon upon us, it’s good to know the Star Wars television pipeline remains active.
Thanks to social media reports from a crewmember, swiftly deleted, we know that the Jude Law fronted Skeleton Crew series has wrapped its principal filming. Despite that swift deletion, the news has been picked up widely, including in Deadline.
While the other offerings that follow the next series of The Mandalorian are known quantities, such as the Ahsoka spin-off and a second run of Andor, Skeleton Crew promises a new angle on the burgeoning post-Return of the Jedi universe.
The show was announced at the Star Wars Celebration in May 2022. It focusses on Jude Law’s character and a cast of children; hailing from a small planet, they get lost and need to find their way home. However, director Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) insists: “It stars four kids, but it is not a kids show.”
Given its placement in the Star Wars timeline, we imagine there’s potential for crossovers with the other active shows. Though perhaps not as unsubtly as with The Book of Boba Fett‘s Mandalorian takeover!
We’ll keep you posted on Skeleton Crew which is expected to arrive sometime in 2023.
Meanwhile, The Mandalorian Season 3 lands at Disney+ on March 1st.
