Star Wars: Ahsoka Season 2 – filming begins

Posted Filed under

With Andor currently airing its second and final season, the only confirmed live-action Star Wars show in production is Ahsoka.

The series follows the exploits of the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano, who fans first met in The Clone Wars animated series. We were introduced to the live-action version of the character, played by Rosario Dawson, in The Mandalorian.

At the recent Star Wars Celebration Japan event, showrunner Dave Filoni suggested that production on season 2 was imminent. Now, Rosario Dawson has confirmed it via Instagram, saying “& we’re off…to galaxies far, far away….!”

The second eight-episode season of Ahsoka picks up with our heroine, as well as Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and the ancient droid Huyang (voiced by David Tennant) stranded on the distant Peridea. However, so is the former Jedi Baylan Skoll, with Rory McCann succeeding the late Ray Stevenson in the role,

Meanwhile while the villainous Grand Admiral Thrawn (Mads Mikkelsen) has returned to menace the New Republic. So has Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi), who reconnected with his former Rebels ally Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead).

In the new run, we’re also promised the debut of Admiral Ackbar, who’ll be taking on Thrawn head-to-head. Plus, more from Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker – presumably in more trippy force dreams?

Star Wars: Ahsoka season 2 should hopefully land at Disney+ in 2026 – we’ll keep you posted.
