In a glorious new trailer for the upcoming Addams show, we meet Fred Armisen as Wednesday’s Uncle Fester.
We’ve been following the build up to Netflix’s Wednesday since it was first announced, with increasing excitement at the various cast reveals.
This new version of The Addams Family takes the clan’s daughter as its protagonist, following her to Nevermore Academy, a school for students from all walks of life and death.
With the seemingly pitch-perfect choice of Jenna Ortega for Wednesday herself, Catherine Zeta-Jones plays Morticia, Luis Guzman is Gomez and Isaac Ordonez plays Pugsley.
However, the family photo has been incomplete, with the makers holding out on a key piece of casting. Now, in a new trailer which dropped at this weekend’s New York Comic Con, we’ve learned that Fred Armisen plays Uncle Fester.
As well as enjoying a lengthy stint on Saturday Night Live, Armisten is a familiar television face; he’s guested on numerous comedy shows including 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

The new 2 minute 30 second trailer offers a wider look at Wednesday’s school experience. As well as hidden passages, secret societies and a school monster, we met some of the town’s not-so-welcoming puritan locals. It does all this against a clever stringed arrangement of Paint It, Black by The Rolling Stones.
Wednesday’s joy at her Uncle’s arrival is a delight; Fester is sure to bring a zany aspect to balance out some of the show’s darkness.
The trailer also provides us with a brief first look at former movie Wednesday Christina Ricci as Miss Thornhill, one of Nevermore’s teachers.
Netflix’s Wednesday runs for eight episodes and premieres on November 23rd 2022.
