The mighty Taskmaster revealed its line-up for the celebrity quiz challenge show’s 17th regular series back in January. Steve Pemberton and Nick Mohammed will compete alongside Joanne McNally, John Robins and Sophie Willan.
Now, we finally have a start date for the new run of episodes. the series returns to Channel 4 at 9PM on Thursday 28th March.

Taskmaster announces its Series 17 lineup
With festive frivolities of Taskmaster’s New Year’s Treat concluded, as well as the small matter of a third Champion vs Champions special, the show rolls on to its seventeenth regular series.
Taskmaster Series 17 is second of six series commissioned by Channel 4 in 2023, securing the show’s future.
Five new celebrities are hoping to impressive Greg Davies and little Alex Horne.
They are:
- Writer, comedian and podcast presenter Joanne McNally (My Therapist Ghosted Me)
- Comedian and BBC Radio 5 Live radio presenter John Robins
- Comedian and Ted Lasso star Nick Mohammed
- Actor, writer, producer and comedian Sophie Willan (Alma’s Not Normal)
- Actor and writer Steve Pemberton (The League of Gentleman, Inside No. 9)
Who will emerge victorious, raise the weighty trophy above their head, and call themselves the Taskmaster Series 17 champion?
There’s no confirmation of a start date yet, but we expect the show to arrive soon. We’ll keep you posted.
Additionally, Junior Taskmaster with Rose Matafeo and Mike Wozniak is landing this year, as well as a VR version of the show too.
