Ahsoka will feature Anakin Skywalker, but will he be a Force Ghost, in flashback or something else?
As Star Wars: Ahsoka approaches, further footage and teases abound.
The show picks up the story of Anakin Skywalker’s former apprentice, Ahsoka Tano, who trained under him during the Clone Wars (as show in the animated series of the same name).
In live action, we’ve met her in both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, played by Rosario Dawson.
Clearly mindful of a portion of the audience who might not be familiar with the character, Lucasfilm have released a new featurette. It explores Ahsoka’s connection to Anakin Skywalker, as well as making the parallel with her creator Dave Filoni, positing him as an apprentice to George Lucas.
A New Star Wars Legacy
The show’s creators are also giving the hard sell on Ahoska being a jumping on point, without any need to have watched all that has gone before.
Anakin
In addition to filling in the history, a new tv spot features new lines spoken by Hayden Christensen as Anakin. We’ve known for a while that he’s appearing and, of course, Christensen reprised the role (as Darth Vader) for Kenobi.
Quite what form his appearance in the show might take – be it flashback, force ghost or something else remains to be seen. Either way, Ray Stevenson’s Baylan Skoll appears to have some history with him…
Force
Star Wars: Ahsoka debuts with two episodes on Disney+ on August 23rd, 2023 – and there’s lots of further information on the official Star Wars site.
