‘The Goblin Song’ released from Doctor Who Christmas special

Posted Filed under

To celebrate the return of Doctor Who on Christmas Day, a fiendishly catchy song from the festive special The Church on Ruby Road was released early as a single on Monday, December 11.

The Goblin Song is an original composition created specifically for the Fifteenth Doctor’s festive debut by composer Murray Gold with lyrics from Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies.

The official lyric video of The Goblin Song, as it appears in The Church on Ruby Road, was released on YouTube.

The video shows the Doctor and Ruby Sunday witnessing a spectacular musical ritual involving a baby, a goblin band and the hungry goblin king.

The main vocalist for the song is Christina Rotondo.

A new 8-episode Doctor Who series starring Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson will debut in Spring of 2024 followed by the 2024 festive special later in the year.
