Catherine Tate and David Tennant Doctor Who 60th

David Tennant and Catherine Tate film Doctor Who in Camden

A Doctor Who film crew from production company Bad Wolf Ltd filmed Catherine Tate and David Tennant with the Thirteenth Doctor’s TARDIS prop in front of the Cyberdog clothing retailer in Camden, UK on 16 May.

The retailer is expected to close again for more Doctor Who filming early afternoon on 17 May.

Tennant wore dark grey suit trousers and a matching waistcoat with a white shirt and white trainers, grey tie and a long dark blue coat.

Tate wore black trousers and boots and an olive green unstructured jacket over a shirt with red and pink wide horizontal stripes.

Actor Bernard Cribbins, who plays Donna Noble’s (Catherine Tate) grandfather Wilfred Mott was spotted on set on a wheelchair.

Rachel Talalay was spotted directing the action.

The action revolved around people reacting to an explosion on a coffee cart.

Showrunner Russell T Davies teased “Maybe this is a missing story. Or a parallel world. Or a dream, or a trick, or a flashback. The only thing I can confirm is that it’s going to be spectacular, as two of our greatest stars reunite for the battle of a lifetime.”

The reunion is somewhat of a mystery since when Doctor and Donna parted ways, the Doctor had to wipe Donna’s memory, making her forget him, in order to save her life. Donna’s family was left with a warning: if ever she remembers, she will die.

Another strange clue is that the TARDIS used in the filming is the same one recently used by Jodie Whittaker’s thirteenth Doctor, not the tenth Doctor’s TARDIS.

The press release for the return of David Tennant and Catherine Tate stated the pair are currently filming for the Doctor Who 60th anniversary, which will be celebrated in 2023. An edited BBC press release formerly stated that Doctor Who will return for a new series in 2023.
