A Sontaran spaceship from Doctor Who appeared in the night sky over Pier Head in Liverpool on Wednesday, October 6.

According to the Liverpool Echo, passers-by had the opportunity to catch a sighting of the ship projected into the sky until midnight.

The craft is of similar design to the spaceship seen in the Series 4 Doctor Who episode The Sontaran Stratagem.

Liverpool will be the setting where the TARDIS sets down and the Doctor will meet her new companion Dan Lewis, a local plasterer.

Transmission details for Series 13 of Doctor Who are not yet announced but according to SFX magazine, the series is “landing imminently.”

Doctor Who Series 13 will consist of six episodes of a single story.

There will be three additional specials in 2022, airing on New Year’s Day, spring, and a BBC centenary special in autumn which will be the last for Jodie Whittaker’s thirteenth Doctor.
