The former star of The Sarah Jane Adventures takes on the world in her own audio series.
With the first box set landing soon, Big Finish have released the cover art for Rani Takes on the World. A gloriously colourful affair by artist Will Brooks, it depicts the central characters of the series.
Beyond Bannerman Road, sees Sarah Jane Smith’s former protégé Rani Chandra (Anjli Mohindra) reunited with her pal Clyde Langer (Daniel Anthony). Mina Anwar also returns to her role as Rani’s mum Gita.
When she appeared in 2022’s International Women’s Day release The Eighth of March: Protectors of Time, we learned that Rani is following in her mentor’s footsteps; her new investigations promise a flying saucer, a destination wedding and a haunted restaurant.

The stories are ‘Here Today’ by Joseph Lidster, ‘Destination: Wedding’ by James Goss and ‘The Witching Tree’ by Lizzie Hopley. You can check out the previously released details here.
Interestingly, with a full cast list now available, we’ve spotted a surprising crossover with another Doctor Who spin-off; Johnny Green is listed as playing the character of Tyler Steele, a journalist and Torchwood associate from the Aliens/God Among Us audio continuation of the show. Odds on he’ll feature in ‘Destination: Wedding’, as the writer is Torchwood producer James Goss.
Rani Takes on the World: Beyond Bannerman Road is available to pre-order on Collector’s Edition CD and download now, releasing in April 2023. Volume 2 is also up for pre-order too, both separately and as part of a bundle.
