Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill reprise their roles for The Thirteenth Doctor Adventures.
Time flies and not just in the TARDIS! The ground-breaking Thirteenth Doctor began her travels back in 2017, and we said goodbye to her in October 2022.
Her tenure gave us three seasons, the latter foreshortened by a global pandemic, and a number of specials – the last celebrating the BBC’s centenary.
During that time she fought Daleks, Cybermen, the Sontarans and the Master, as well as coping with new foes too. She also encountered historical figures like Rosa Parks, King James I and Nicola Tesla, as well as visiting India at the time of Partition, and the Crimean War.
The Thirteenth Doctor’s era cracked open series continuity too, revealing a new orphan backstory for the Doctor and a hidden incarnation – dubbed the Fugitive Doctor.
For Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill, who played companion Yasmin Khan, it’s been even longer – filming on ‘The Power of the Doctor’ actually wrapped back in late 2021.
Now, the pair are to be reunited on audio for Big Finish Productions. Beginning in July 2025, they embark on a series of 12 brand-new stories: The Thirteenth Doctor Adventures.
Each story will be an hour-long, full-cast audio drama. The series’ producer is Noga Flaishon and the script editor is Matt Fitton.
Most appropriately, this news hits the Whoniverse at 13:13 on the 13th of July.

“I’m over the moon to be joining Big Finish for more adventures in the TARDIS. Recording the Thirteenth Doctor and Yaz is a really lovely thing to revisit. One of the things Mandip and I used to love on Doctor Who was getting in, doing a new episode and meeting a brand-new cast. I just can’t wait to step back into the boots, pull on the coat and get cracking. One thing’s for sure, it’s going to be brilliant.”
Mandip Gill added:
“Doctor Who has been a huge part of my career and personal life and I am looking forward to seeing how I can further enrich my character through this exhilarating series. To be able to work with Jodie again is a dream come true, we have such a special friendship, I’m sure the recordings will be filled with laughter.”
The adventures begin in July 2025, with the series released bi-monthly, on collector’s edition CD (+ download) or download only. Complete series multibuy bundles are also available.

This marks the third audio series drawn from the Thirteenth Doctor’s era. Spin off adventures for Jo Martin’s Fugitive Doctor and the Sacha Dhawan Master also begin in 2025 too.
Additionally, the Fugitive Doctor meets the War Doctor in the concluding part of the 60th anniversary tale Once and Future this November.
