Bilis Manger returns, along with Yvonne Hartman. So does Ianto Jones – but how?
The continuing story of Torchwood leaps back into audio action very soon.
Picking up on the Cardiff-based, post-Miracle Day events chronicled in Aliens Among Us and God Among Us, a new run of three boxsets begins in May 2023.
Simply titled Torchwood: Among Us, the first box set promises the return of some familiar voices including Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles) and her long-suffering husband Rhys Williams (Kai Owen). However, as Part 2 lands in quick succession – in June – audio producers Big Finish have begun to reveal some of the details for that box set too.
A quick look at the cover, by Sean Longmore, reveals three returnees – one surprising, the two other less so.
We aren’t stunned by the return of Yvonne Hartman (Tracey Ann Oberman) – we got over that a while back – although she is pictured rocking prison garb, rather than power dressing in a business suit. Nor the ominous presence of the sinister Billis Manger (Murray Melvin) either. However, quite how Ianto Jones (Gareth David-Lloyd) can be involved is a puzzle… although he does look rather insubstantial in the picture.
Here’s what’s been revealed about Torchwood: Among Us Part 2 so far:
Torchwood are on the run. As the world puts itself back together, Torchwood are there to pick up the pieces. And they find something nasty hiding in them.
Orr’s on a mercy mission to a doomed city. Sgt Andy is visiting an old flame in prison. Bilis Manger spends a night in the Torchwood Hub. Mr Colchester has to keep the most hated man in Britain alive for one more day.
“I know where you are now. And I know what I will do next.”

Orr is desperate to get to Voloshnik. The city’s sealed off in the middle of a war the world’s forgotten. There has to be someone left to save.
‘At Her Majesty’s Pleasure’ by Tim Foley
Yvonne Hartman is in a very special prison. And there’s absolutely no way out of it. So why is she convinced she’s escaped?
‘Cuckoo’ by Tim Foley
A group of urban explorers break into the Torchwood Hub. They disturb Bilis Manger who has his own plans for the evening.
‘Pariahs’ by James Goss
We’ve all spent the last two years sticking our DNA in jars and sending it off in the post. What happened to it? Two people know the secrets of the Phlobos Scandal, and Torchwood have to keep them alive.
Joining Tracey-Ann Oberman, Gareth David Lloyd and Murray Melvin are a familiar bunch; the box set’s four tales feature Orr (Samantha Béart), Mr Colchester (Paul Clayton), Tyler Steele (Jonny Green), Ng (Alexandria Riley) and Sgt. Andy Davidson (Tom Price).
Additionally, Big Finish have revealed that Nathaniel Curtis (It’s a Sin, The Witcher: Blood Origin) is making a special appearance as a character named Vijay.
Nathaniel Curtis said:
“What a lovely group of people. It’s been so enjoyable to bounce off each other. Bilis Manger is genuinely quite frightening!”
Torchwood: Among Us Part 2 is available to pre-order on collector’s edition CD + download, or download only, from Big Finish.
