This looks like perfect Christmas fare. Hard to believe that it is just 12 months since we farewelled Matt Smith now that Peter Capaldi just totally owns the role in a way no other new Who actor has even come close to. I really now find watching the older episodes, that there was a time since 2005 when Peter wasn’t the doctor.
Time has really flown – not surprising for Doctor Who though!

Capadis fine as the Doctor but the writing this season has not been anywhere near good enough to justify all this mindless adulation.
To a lot of fans, those who enjoy consistently good writing, the tv show has taken a back seat to Big Finish especially with these last two mediocre season.

There’s something about the fact that Santa’s in this episode, it’s set at the North Pole and we get an army of toys which come to life which reminds me of that oft remade movie “Babes In Toyland”. I’m not sure whether this is going to work or not, I’m just hoping it’s not another “The Doctor, The Widow And The Wardrobe” or “Robot Of Sherwood”.
