8 months and 6 days after the Christmas special aired, Doctor Who returned to BBC One with a bang on Saturday night.
It’s been another busy week for new shows as a returning BBC favourite takes the headlines again as ITV continues to suffer.
The return of an old favourite on BBC One means that the corporation has had another good week in relation to its competitors.
This week saw the schedules get back to normal as the BBC waved goodbye to the Olympics and several new shows were launched.
Unsurprisingly, the BBC’s Olympic coverage has been running (and cycling and rowing and dressage-ing) away with the viewing figures this week.
Ratings for the US premiere of Torchwood: Miracle Day‘s first episode are in, with a total of 1.51 million viewers tuning in to Starz on Friday night.
BBC One’s space drama Outcasts dropped to just 1.5 million viewers in its new Sunday night slot.
Supernatural dramas Marchlands and Being Human continued to perform well this week, while Outcasts‘ audience dropped further.
While it was bad news for BBC One’s space drama Outcasts this week, Sky’s homegrown dramas Mad Dogs and Bedlam continued to perform strongly.
