A third director in addition to Rachel Talalay and Chanya Button is listed as working on the Doctor Who 60th anniversary specials set to air in 2023.
On the CV of makeup artist Stevie Smith, who worked on David Tennant’s makeup for the specials, director Tom Kingsley is listed alongside Talalay and Button as a Doctor Who 60th anniversary specials director.
The Doctor Who 60th anniversary celebrations are expected to include three specials starring David Tennant as the Doctor and Catherine Tate as companion Donna Noble.
According to the slates for the specials the posted on their respective Instagrams, Rachel Talalay directed Special 1 and Chanya Button directed Special 3.

That leaves room for a second special, possibly filmed in Camden on May 16. Aside from this, not much is known of Special 2 except that Tom Kingsley directed it and cinematographer Nick Dance is the Director of Photography.
There is also an enigmatic ghost emoji which showrunner Russell T Davies included in a comment on Chanya Button’s post.
From location filming, we know that there are at least two kinds of aliens in Special 1. There was no hint of ghosts or a ghost story from any location filming which fans witnessed.

Tom Kingsley previously directed episodes of medical drama This is Going to Hurt and some episodes of comedy supernatural series Ghosts. He also directed an episode of a Doctor Who fan series titled Suburbia.
Principal photography for the 60th anniversary specials ended in July 2022. The three specials starring David Tennant are expected to air in 2023, the 60th anniversary year for Doctor Who.
Filming is expected to resume in November 2022 with Ncuti Gatawa portraying the Doctor for Doctor Who Series 14, likely to air in 2024.
