Big Finish announced a series of audio adventures starring Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper.
Twenty years ago, Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper reinvigorated Saturday evenings with their starring roles on Doctor Who.
As the traumatised Ninth Doctor and his new companion Rose Tyler, the pair visited the end of the world, met Charles Dickens and battled a legion of Daleks.
While Eccleston left the show at the end of its first series, Piper stayed for another year with the freshly minted Tenth Doctor. She later returned as Rose for the final episodes of Series 4, and appeared in the show’s 50th anniversary special too.
Big Finish
In recent years, both stars have reprised their characters on audio with Big Finish. Billie Piper joined David Tennant for a volume of The Tenth Doctor Adventures, and she’s also fronted three volumes of her own series Rose Tyler – The Dimension Cannon.
Meanwhile, Christopher Eccleston has starred in his own run of The Ninth Doctor Adventures, appearing in 36 stories across twelve volumes. He also took part in the company’s 60th Anniversary mini-series Once and Future, meeting David Warner’s alt-universe Uubound Doctor.
Now, the pair are to be reunited for a fourth series of The Ninth Doctor Adventures. There are 12 hour-long adventures coming, released every two months, with the first released in August 2025.

Billie Piper added:
“I can’t think of a better time for Rose to reunite with her first Doctor than now. Twenty years after she first ran into the TARDIS and towards adventure, here we are again, me and Chris, ready to have fun facing the universe – and the monsters – together.”
