BBC Children in Need has released a clip of Jodie Whittaker recording Yellow accompanied by Coldplay artists Jonny Buckland and Will Champion ahead of their special on the album Children in Need: Got it Covered which airs October 30.
The Coldplay duo surprised Whittaker as she rehearsed the song. The Doctor Who actress was both delighted and emotional as she exclaimed, “Oh my God, I’m going to cry my eyes out! I’m 36 and I feel like I’m 13!”
This is a chance to hear Jodie whittaker’s voice as it is recorded and before it was processed for the album. Champion told her, “You sound amazing, so thank you for singing our song!” and Buckland declared, “I think she’s really good!”
Whittaker’s fellow Doctor Who actor David Tennant also sang for the album, as well as Doctor Who guest stars Olivia Colman and Shaun Dooley, who organized the fundraiser.
The Children in Need: Got It Covered television special will air on BBC One Wednesday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m.
