One can only assume that ITV1’s Titanic was scripted in-between sips of a G&T on the Downton Abbey set.
It was large, grand and – with so many talented names on board – hyped up to be pretty much unsinkable, but ITV1’s Titanic seems to have foundered on the iceberg of a fragmented and repetitive narrative.

We caught up with Amy to find out what she likes to watch to relax between filming…
TV show to cheer you up:
“Anything that makes my sides hurt from laughing! I love Would I Lie to You or a good bit of stand-up like Michael McIntyre or Lee Mack.”
TV show to watch before going to sleep:
“I love a good drama just before I sleep, like a bedtime story! Recent favourites have been Downton Abbey, Birdsong and White Heat.”
Favourite “guilty pleasure” TV show:
“No telling ok?! For my sins it’s Made in Chelsea… I’m actually pretty excited about the next episode.”
TV show that reminds you of your childhood:
“I didn’t have TV until I was 18 so I was deprived of the joys of childhood TV! I’m a dab hand at arts and crafts though!”
TV show that reminds you of being a teenager:
“Still no TV… but we had neighbours who did! Every Thursday night we’d go over and watch Strange but True, a pretty dire supernatural documentary, but back then I loved it!”
So here we are; the final throws of a dying giant twist and turn, but regretfully to no avail.
ITV1’s four-part Titanic drama serial concludes this weekend with the final episode.
We’ve had three instalments of ITV’s Titanic now and scriptwriter Fellowes’ looping-back narrative is starting to feel ever so slightly tired.
