Netflix has confirmed some more casting for The Crown season 3: Marion Bailey will play the Queen Mother, and Erin Doherty is lined up for the role of Princess Anne. Plus, Josh O’Connor is confirmed again as Princes Charles.
HBO’s boss bloke, Casey Bloys, has been promising big things from the Game Of Thrones prequel series. Jane Goldman’s show, which will take place thousands of years before Thrones and detail “the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour”, will have complicated characters and a story that grabs you.
Was Westworld season 2 overly complicated? Some viewers certainly thought so, and HBO boss Casey Bloys has now commented on that backlash. He’s asserted that the show is “not for casual viewers”.
HBO has set the release dates for a couple of high-profile comedy projects: Camping, starring David Tennant and Jennifer Garner, is set to premiere on October 14th; and the brand new Flight Of The Conchords special will debut on the premium cable channel on October 6th.

Comedians James Acaster and Josh Widdicombe are set to head up a new panel show for UKTV’s Dave channel. The show is entitled Hypothetical, and it will centre on comedians battling it out in fictional situations. Sounds like it could be a real hoot.
There has been talking of a Deadwood movie for years, and now HBO’s head honcho – Casey Bloys – has confirmed that it’s pressing ahead. The green light has been given, so hopefully, we should see the show’s impressive cast coming back together soon.
When Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor debuts in the autumn she will be joined by three brand new companions, Graham, Yaz and Ryan, making the first female Doctor’s TARDIS the busiest since the classic era. Showrunner Chris Chibnall has now shed light on why Whittaker has so many companions.
Judge Dredd: Mega City One, the TV series that’s currently in development, is starting to come together. Rebellion Productions have brought in comic book writer Rob Williams, who has delivered a script for the pilot episode. The first two seasons have also been planned out.
