Creator Neil Gaiman delivers the Good Omens 2 start date in deadpan style via a YouTube parody.
Good things come to those who wait. Fortunately, the wait is nearly over for Good Omens 2!
The second series of the show, based on the book by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, lands on 28th July, 2023 at Prime Video.
Good Omens tells the story of the Angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and the Demon Crowley (David Tennant). The pair act as representatives for their respective masters on Earth, but also maintain an unlikely partnership. The first series saw the pair team up to avert the apocalypse. Good Omens 2 will continue to chronicle their friendship.
Here’s the synopsis for Good Omens 2
Season Two of Good Omens explores storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale, a fussy angel and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley. Having been on Earth since The Beginning, and with the Apocalypse thwarted, Aziraphale and Crowley are getting back to easy living amongst mortals in London’s Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery.
We already know a fair bit about the casting for season 2, with plenty of cast returning to their roles. One of the biggest names is Jon Hamm, who’s confirmed as reprising his Angel Gabriel. Derek Jacobi also returns, with the cast also comprised of Siân Phillips and three members of The League of Gentleman. We also know it will be a Tennant family affair, with father-in-law Peter Davison and son Ty Tennant joining the show.
The Hillywood Show
The impressive, high budget (if lengthy) Good Omens Parody by The Hillywood Show is available on YouTube, with Neil Gaiman appearing at the end to drop the date. There’s also a familiar face or two – it’s worth a watch.
Good Omens 2 lands all six episodes at Prime Video on 28th July, 2023. The show will also follow to the BBC at a later date.
